Wowie Maui

Two weeks in fabulous Maui and we didn't ever want to leave.  Thanks to Jane's 'get up and go' drive, we managed to scour almost every inch of the island, and did just about everything there is to do in Maui.

Back to Home

Here's the view off the balcony of our room... not bad eh?

One of the two beaches just strolling distance from our hotel

Kayaking off the southwestern coast

Jane hangs by a waterfall on the road to Hana

These Malaysian 'gumdrop' trees were one of the sights at the arboretum on the Road to Hana

Wid did LOTS of snorkeling, and sea turtles were abundant

Fishees

Check out the lava flows coming down the mountain. The Hawaians call this 'ah ah' lava cuz you don't want to walk on it... very sharp and jagged

So we got a little lost on our way to the 'Road to Hana' and stopped here to take a picture. We have forever named this place "Cheeseburger Kanapali Ridge". Someday I'll open a bbq joint here and a make a killing.

This was one of our first stops on the Road to Hana.. Maui is chock full of ridiculous views

For some reason I walked across the metal tread in the middle of this so called 'bridge' over a 20 foot chasm... it lead us too....

HERE... a magnificent pool under a waterfall back off the road..The moutain water was cold, but refreshing and excellent

Jane the mermaid tools around the waters of the Molokini crater during one of our stops on a half day boat trip / snorkeling expedition.

This photo was taken for us at one of the two Luau's we attended. This was the Old Lahaina luau, and there was some excellent native dancing.

The "King's Highway"... an old road that meanders around Maui, built here straight through the lava flows by hand, rock by rock
